Each day, Maintenance Planners and Routers are faced with a daunting task of getting the airplanes that need maintenance to those cities that can perform it. Multiple maintenance cities... checks that can be done at line check cities... defer the item for another day?... evaluate and solve the entire fleet - all the while unswapping the scheduled crew swaps... all these variables make the perfect environment for the S3RUS Maintenance Router.
S3RUS offers a fully integrated Maintenance Routing Optimizer that uses a variety of inputs – crew routings, station constraints and maintenance requirements.
Inputs come from the maintenance planning system and crew management systems:
The user can then define parameters drive the Maintenance Optimizer to 1) reduce crew connections, 2) maintaining station turn and gate requirements, and/or 3) maintaining operational spare/creating routing room for charters, all while meeting tail specific maintenance requirements for the next 3-10 days.
The S3RUS Maintenance Router produces output files suitable for import to the airlines fleet following system, updating the tail routings for the period run.

"The S3RUS Maintenance Router went through a tough vetting process here at AirTran. Our routers were good at what they did, and they scrutinized each run from the Maintenance Router vs. what they came up with manually. Eventually the router won over their confidence as it consistently provided a better maintenance plan, while always being able to improve on other intangibles, like reducing crew swaps."
